Advantage Healthcare’s Fylde Coast branch is celebrating this week after being awarded a contract with a local Primary Care Trust to provide Human Papillomavirus Vaccinations (HPV) within local educational settings.
The contract begins in September 2009 and is likely to continue right through to April 2010. Advantage nurses will be visiting local schools and colleges to vaccinate girls aged between 12 and 18. There will be a course of three immunisations over a period of six months for each girl.
A recruitment drive is now taking place for registered nurses across Fylde Coast and surrounding areas to ensure the demand for vaccinations is well met. All nurses will receive appropriate training where necessary to ensure they have the specific skills and competencies to provide the highest standard of service.
Commercial Manager Debbie Horne is positive that the contract will bring positive results for both the branch and the business as a whole. She says; "This will open the doors to other opportunities within this large PCT, and will add another proven service delivery to our directory of services. We are now receiving interest from other PCT’s who are also looking to work with us to help them achieve their targets for HPV and other vaccination programmes.
