Care Assistants for Home Care
For this placement you will be supporting our female client who has chronic spinal compression.
We are searching for a carer who can offer support with a smile and feels comfortable working in a close family setting. As part of your role you will be required assist with all aspects of personal care, such as washing and toileting. You may also have to tend to some domestic duties around the home.
This is a full time position with 45 working hours a week available. A certain level of commitment will be required to maintain a high standard of care. To be successful applicants should be able to provide clinical references which cover both skills and experience
Support Workers for Learning Disabilities
Advantage Healthcare is currently recruiting for several Support Workers to work within an adult’s with learning disabilities home in North West Cambridgeshire. The home provides support to 6 residents, 3 male and 3 female. You will be assisting resident’s personal care and various activities.
All residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible. Our client discourages the staff 'doing for' mentality and promotes residents to make choices for themselves on a daily basis. Some individuals require more assistance than others but this is always explained in care plans and person centered plans.
Most residents communicate verbally, however some also use makaton and communicate with objects of reference or pictures. Some residents may also require assistance with their finances. Most residents access community education classes, some are assisted by staff, others access these independently. Please be advised that the residents have a small dog, Boris; who is very yappy but very sweet.To be successful applicants should be able to provide clinical references which cover both skills and experience
Domiciliary Carers
Advantage Healthcare are currently searching for dedicated care workers with domiciliary experience to help support a young boy who suffers with epilepsy, learning disabilities and autism in the comfort of his own home.
We are looking for someone who can offer a friendly face and encouraging support with all daily activities and aspects of personal care. People with active imaginations and energy will be preferred as outings to the park will be a big part of this rewarding role.
Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers
Advantage Healthcare are currently recruiting Support Workers/Healthcare Assistants to work with a client based in North West Cambridge. Our client has learning disabilities and can exhibit challenging behaviour. You will be supporting him on a 1-2-1 basis both in a day centre and to help access social activities, such college and the gym
The successful candidate will:
- Promote self help skills
- Encourage our client to take part in activities and assist them to live as independently a possible.
- Assist the client with personal care
- Be prepared to play various games with the client
- Adhere to the care plan at all times
All candidates will preferable hold an NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification in health and social care but this is not essential as full training can be given.
